| First, yes I had a great experience with SavingLots.com. The order was shipped quick, packed well and arrived in New and perfect condition. Because when searching for feedback on the use of this item I couldn't really find anything I am going to tell you a little about the product itself. I have a 5 level, 3,600 Square Foot passive solar earth home with no central heating or cooling in a state that runs 90+ humidity June to August. This means my house gets humid. The only way to help my home stay below 75 degrees is to pull out the moisture. If I don't the tile floors sweat and everything is sticky. Before I bought this my 3 dehumidifiers were not taking care of the moisture. Since the Danby arrived I have been able to retire 2 of my old units, my house stay around 40% relative humidity and my electric bill has gone down $15.00. I will be buying one more of these units in the next month to retire the last of the old units. This unit is quiet, cost efficient and covers a lot of area. There is only 1 drawback that I can find with this unit.... the compressor throws off a good amount of heat which is blown into the air via the fan. This raises the temperature in the room that it is located in by about 4 degrees. With no central air this can cause a little bit of discomfort for me, but I have remedied this by putting a small fan near the compressor output to help keep the compressor itself cool. This seems to help quite a bit. I give this product "4 out of 5 stars" And I would have given it 5 if it came in black so it would blend in the background a little better. |
